Boss Mom

Boss Mom- My Theme Song

Boss mom

Came home from my work trip to sticky floors, dirty dishes in the sink, and warm hearts.  The house may have been a wreck, my husband (so happy for me to be home) had a sight of relief, but for the first time, I had a great welcoming with open arms and tiny feet around me.

My oldest came outside to great me, helped carry my bags, and as soon as I came inside, gave me the biggest hug. It was such a warm and joyful feeling!

While I was away on my trip, I tried to FaceTime as much as I could.  During our phone conversation, my oldest kept saying, “sissy misses you.” If you read my previous boss mom blogs, you’d understand that my oldest doesn’t always show or verbalize a nurturing love towards me.  Things have become better after the adoption. But, hearing her say that she missed me, that was very heart felt. I was home. I was a mom. And nobody can take that away.

What is your theme song?

What is your strong niche? What song makes you go, and feel like the strong woman, boss, mom, etc. that you are today?

Is it a Song of Joy and Happiness?

Something to get you through the day!

Lift up your spirits, determination, confidence.

A lot of people like the happy, go lucky, make you feel good songs.

Is it a Power song?

Others like the hard rock and roll to show power and self awareness.

It’s loud, strong, and says I’m here!

What is your theme to life?

On the plane ride home, these questions filled the air. So I did what anyone else would do on the three hour plane ride back.  Put my music on shuffle, and wrote down a few favs.  Make sure you leave your favs in the comments!

Mandis is my JAM in the mornings! My Girls like Zeb and Toby Mac. There is a mini session in the car where we play skip so everyone can listen to their theme song in the morning. Whatever song it maybe, make sure it makes you alive in the morning! Puts you in a positive energy mood.

Headed Home

And some days, not all days (hopefully), we just have to play Up In Here by DMX. (Yes I was born in the 80’s, grew up in the 90’s…. this in my genre).  Preferably the edited version mind you.  I mean I do have kids that I am wanting to try and be a good role model for. But sometimes, when you have those days… you know what I’m talking about. Those days where you’re alone, you squeal your tires trying to get out of the parking lot at fast as possible so no one can track you down on your way out! And when you are alone, you crank up the volume as you feel like you are losing your mind!

Just Let it All Out

We’ve all been there. As Boss Mom’s, It’s OK!  We do not have to be perfect, nor have perfect days.  Sometimes you just have to let it all out.  (Words from my four year old when she feels a little gassy.)  As long as we stay committed, and work for the Glory of the Lord, He says it himself, we Will Be Successful!

“Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.” Proverbs 16:3
