Love Pumps the Heart

So as I think about the day and miss work with my sick child, I sit and ponder about a blog idea I’ve had, but haven’t posted. One I still don’t have the answers to.

February is the month of women’s heart health, also the month of love.

We wear red day in celebration, walk to pump up your heart, and share the love you have for others. Love thy neighbor. Recently, there have been so many have lost loved ones, and these are of all ages. My parents neighbor passed away. Though they may not have been close or knew each other’s troubles, my parents showed love and did the neighborly thing that us Christian folk do. Take food. We love food. But how else do people show love?

Love thy neighbor is one of God’s greatest commandments. Love thy next door neighbor, coworker, classmate, family, friends, even strangers. I work in the healthcare world, and so often do we have strangers come in and we show love.  But yet, we have a hard time loving our co-worker next to us.

Love Is Why

A local church has started a love is why movement. Why do we do the things we do? Out of spite, out of glory and honor? Is it all for show? Or is it truly out of love?

Love is greeting someone with a smile. You don’t know what type of day they maybe having.  Love is sharing your snack at school your mom packed with the kid beside you because he doesn’t have one and didn’t get a chance to make it in time to school for breakfast.  Love is pitching in and helping out a coworker who may feel overwhelmed. They may need a mental break, possibly from home life and work stress.

Love is having a warm meal ready when your spouse gets off work. Clean laundry as you open the closet to get ready for work the next day.  Love is a little note saying how awesome you are!  It is a peck and a hug around the neck. Love is sincere, love is a grand gesture or maybe just saying not a word. Just being there for a friend in need. Love is powerful. Love is a kind word, love is indeed all around us.

Choose love because Love is Why. Love is why we forgive why we turn the other cheek. Why God gave his son’s life for us. Love is the answer to many questions. Love is all you need. The greatest of these is love!
