Adoption

Gotcha Day

“Love puts the fun in together, hope in tomorrow,
and joy in my heart.”

Each adoption story is unique in it’s own way.  Ours is my favorite.

Finally after a long process, we finally made it.  It has been a bitter sweet time.  Each adoption story is unique in it’s own way.  Ours is my favorite.  It is amazing how God can take something so chaotic, and make it into something so wonderful!  My husband and I have really had to keep our faith in God during the whole process.  If it weren’t for him, and us listening and being patient for his will, this would have never happened.  This wasn’t our plan, but Gods.  We may not be your cookie cutter family.  There is no telling what reaction you may receive, but at the end, the reaction will be love.

Adoption is Unpredictable.

Above time, money, and other tangible things, if you do not have love for God, you have nothing.  These photos show what adoption is all about.  It is scary.  It is unpredictable.  It happens in so many different ways, and yet brings families together.  It can also split some apart.

Thank God in ALL Things.

I thank God for the girls birth parents.  If not for them, these girls would not be in our home.  I especially thank God for giving me the courage and strength to do His will.  I knew deep down it’s what I had to do.  I am sure my family, friends, and coworkers thought I was crazy nuts.  But when you know and feel out loud what the Lord is telling you to do, you do it!

You are NOT Alone in this process.

When we first had the girls in our care, we had three days to get things in order.  That’s not a lot of time.  Thinking back, I remember the long trips driving back and forth during custody.  So many sleepless nights, I remember, laying in the middle of the floor holding both their hands until they fell asleep in their separate beds.  I remember the long hours spent in the court room, not knowing what the outcome would be.  In this whole process you are not alone.  There are so many people out there to help.  Thank you to the CASA Workers, DHS Workers, Lawyers, Psychologist, Physicians, Teachers, and other specialist who helped in our aid.  I felt the many prayers that were lifted up on our last day in court, as well as the many praises we had today.

So many tears were shed, so many questions were asked during the whole process.  There are so many questions we cannot answer, only God can.  But I praise him during the joyful times and have asked for humbleness during the tough ones.

We are ALL Adopted in the Family of God.

We are all adopted in the family of God.  I have been adopted in the his Holy family for approximately 9,526 days. (I’m not the best at math, so don’t quote me on the exact amount. I’m definitely going to struggle with the 2nd grade “new” math.)

974 days and counting!  We have shared love, a home, and now the same last name. Family is forever. #MeettheBrowns #Brownpartyof4 #Allyouneedislove #Foreverinmyheart
