Boss Mom- The Hard Stuff
So I just finished up a great week at my conference! It was so enjoyable! Such an eye opener. I was so glad to be able to come and grow, network, and find ways to make myself better. The secret you ask?
If you want to be better you have to want to be better.
You have to think that way. Changing your mindset doesn’t happen over night, but staying consistent and having those reminders helps.
“Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding.” Proverbs 3:13
You are who you hang around.
If you want to be healthy and workout, find a friend with those same goals. I enjoyed this conference on both a personal and professional basis.
The only downfall, returning back. Now don’t get me wrong I miss my family. But I can’t lie, it was a goo break. My oldest told me her sister missed me very much, which in case means, she also missed me very much. Being a mother now, I am really having to lean to juggle my career as well as kids.
“He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.” Proverbs 12:20
I’ve always put my career as a priority, but now with the girls thrown in the mix, I’m having to change my prospective of life.
I love traveling, however, it is so hard on my family. My girls have abandonment issues. They may always have this the rest of their life. I’m not sure. Issues to come up when I am gone. Now these could possibly very well happen if I was there. But, that’s not the point.
The point is, I learned my family needs me.
During this trip, I learned my family needs me, and I need them. I need to feel loved! I’ve learned while being both a boss and a mom, I’m not always told I am appreciated. It’s amazing when you get a thank you from someone unexpectedly! But, when my husband calls, and he’s having a hard time, or my child has an accident or behavioral issue, I know I’m needed, and it feels good to be needed.
I need to put myself first.
Second thing I learned in being both a boss and a mom is that even when you are needed, you have to learn to put yourself first. If your cannot refuel your own energy, mind, spirit, you won’t be 100% in helping others. You need to take care of your health rather if it’s in the quality (not quantity) of food you eat, quality workout, the way you present yourself, and even the president you set in your mind. Being of a positive mindset, will allow others to treat you with the respect and gratitude you need to fulfill your destiny.
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” II Corinthians 9:8
