Expectations of a Mom
I just have to say moms have so many more expectations these days!
We work outside the home inside the home volunteer at school do projects go on field trips. We are expected to do all these things! When I was growing up, we didn’t dress up as old ladies, we didn’t have Pinterest moms. They worked and managed to whip up dinner every night. They ran us around to ball games on Thursday’s piano on Mondays and church Wednesday’s and Sundays. We only watched tv during TGIF family game night or Saturday mornings after we did our chores. After that, outside we went no matter what the weather was.
So this is Ode to the working mom.
May we stick together, and become the best dang mom we can be. As every deadline and late night is thrown our way, my our children see our hard work and strive for it. That every school project and field trip be penciled into our calendar and shower social media with all the photos for our family and friends to see.
May we still run ragged to every ball game, cheer practice, and still have a home cooked meal on the dinner table that we eat as a family. Teach our children about God’s love, read to them, love them, and pray for them daily.
May we love our husbands. Show him kindness when we are tired or aggravated. Act as an example of a Godly woman and submissive wife. Providing structure, care, kindness, and nurturing.
We will be tired. We will want to throw in the towel. But don’t do it! Mom you are needed and loved! You can do this with all the strength you have left, even if it is as small as a mustard seed. God will prevail. May he anoint you will strength, rest, and restoration.
Momma, you got this!
